Medium ruby. Pure, subdued aromas of raspberry, tar, pepper and youthful syrah vegetility. Extremely tightly wrapped and much less expressive today than the '99. Penetrating flavors of black fruits and pepper firmed by sound acids. Finishes with tongue-dusting tannins. This one is going to need extended cellaring.
